KISKADEE - DAWN CHorus (pre-release)
Hi, I’m kiskadee - I collect sounds and turn them into bittersweet beats & electronic soundscapes.
kiskadee (Jack Chown) makes emotional electronic music that captures sounds from his surroundings and transforms them into uplifting, textured soundscapes. Raised on the island of Jersey, his nautical upbringing shapes a sound built on organic field recordings merged with electronic production. He started the project during lockdown in 2020, collecting voice notes from friends and family and flipping them into bittersweet beats.
His debut EP Home (2021) and debut album A Room to Breathe (2024) blended ambient and club influences with field recordings and live instrumentation, earning acclaim from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, Clash (who called him a "little-known tour-de-force"), and Complex, plus an hour-long mix on BBC 6Music's 'Lose Yourself with...' series and a long-standing monthly residency on Voices Radio. Since launching his live show in 2023, he has performed at Glastonbury, Green Man, Wilderness, and Secret Garden Party, alongside support slots and headline shows across London.
A multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer, kiskadee cut his teeth as an engineer at Abbey Road and Baltic Studios, working alongside producers including Andrew Wyatt, Kid Harpoon, and Stint, and artists including MIA, James Bay, Liam Gallagher, Jessie Ware, and Benjamin Francis Leftwich. That grounding sharpened his ear for emotional detail and sonic nuance, balancing the warmth of acoustic performance with the precision of modern production.
This same sensibility drives his parallel work as a film and brand composer, where his cinematic, emotionally charged scores have soundtracked award-winning films, international campaigns, and large-scale art installations. Recent narrative credits include Stolen Gold (Pulse Films / ESPN, IDA Award nominated), Bad Goods and Cowboy Kings of Crypto (Vice Studios), and How to Take a Nude (Straight 8, premiered at Cannes), while his branded work spans Nike, Sony, Vogue, Porsche, and Asahi, plus Levis. His score for Touching Hands, made in collaboration with Guy Ritchie, won a Music & Sound Award. Beyond screen work, his interactive installation Photo//Synthesis merged sound with photo-realistic 3D plant and flower scans that responded to audience movement.
Now based out of his own studio in East London, kiskadee continues to push the project's reach across screen, installation, and live performance, with new work and his forthcoming second album expanding the boundaries between organic and electronic sound.
Live/DJ
I love capturing sounds from my surroundings and turning them into something to move to. Here are two snapshots from the live show. Album two is on the way - this is the world it's coming from.

An Installation
New work, made with nature as a collaborator. Alongside Neal Coghlan (Studio Aszyk), I spent time at Durrell's organic farm and St Ouen's Pond scanning plants and recording soundscapes - raw material for an immersive installation built with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and the National Trust for Jersey.
Field recordings layered with organic electronic composition meet photogrammetry, motion capture, and digital simulation — sculptural images and sound pieces designed to hold onto fleeting moments with the natural world.
Having received Arts Council funding, we’re developing this work further - bringing it to London & Brighton later in 2026 where I'll also be premiering new material from album two alongside the installation. A space for stillness, growth, and reflection 🌿
